Hypertension and Chronic Renal Failure
Renal failure is a pathological state of chronic kidney disease develops to the end stage that causes the loss of partial or all renal function. Hypertension is a most common chronic disease, and also a main risk element of cardo-cerebrovascular disease. Cerebral apoplexy, myocardial infarction, heart failure and chronic kidney disease is its complications.
With the constantly development of the course of hypertension, most of the patients with hypertension will complicated with kidney disease. Hypertension nephropathy is an advanced stage referring to damage to the kidney due to chronic high blood pressure. In other words, blood pressure of patients is unsatisfactorily controlled and is not cured correctly in time; it causes damage to renal vessels and the shortage of blood supply in the kidney. These causes renal dysfunction and hypertensive nephropathy.
The patients need to make changes in diet, including:
·Light breakfast. The patient can choose a cup of milk or soy milk, an egg, and a piece of bread.
·Low-salt and less oil diet. Do not add lots of seasoning.
·Be 70% full at dinner. The patient should have soups or porridges.
Early prevention of the disease:
The early prevention of hypertensive nephropathy is very important; here are some common preventive measures of the disease:
·If the patient has the symptoms of frequent urination at night, albuminuria or transient hematuresis, he/she should often check renal function, 24 hours urinary protein quantity, blood pressure and fundus (eye).
·If the age of the patient is at 40-50, or over 50, and his/her history of hypertension is 5-10 year or more, also be defined the increase of microalbuminuria, he/she should be high alert of the disease.
·Avoid the contact with heavy metals, poisonous substances and drugs that may damage the kidney.
