Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome is a very rare form of Nephrotic Syndrome. It is usually diagnosed at or soon after birth. According to clinical study, about a half of Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome babies die of infection within one year and another half of babies have kidney failure within 3 years. Therefore, if medical treatment is adopted timely, patients die within 4 years.
Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome is just a form of Nephrotic Syndrome and it should be differed from general Nephrotic Syndrome in children. For general Nephrotic Syndrome in children, it is not not hereditary, which means children gets Nephrotic Syndrome by themselves and do not inherit this problem from their parents.
