Introduction about Different Types of Kidney Cyst

Kidney Cyst (Renal cyst) refers to the cystic masses of different sizes in the kidney. And it can be classified into three types: Adult Kidney Cysts, Simple Kidney Cysts, and Acquired Kidney Cysts.
Adult Kidney Cysts
Adult Kidney Cysts is a kind of hereditary disease, which is commonly seen among the patients with Polycystic Kidney Disease. The patients present with numerous round kidney cysts of different sizes in renal parenchyma. The cysts are full of fluid, which can be too small to observe with naked eyes or as large as several centimeters. The symptoms of these patients include increased night urine, backache, hypertension, hematuria, little amount of proteinuria, etc. Without effective treatment, patients with Adult Renal Cysts will gradually enter the stage of Chronic Renal Failure.In addition, there may be some complications accompanied. According to the survey, 10% patients with Adult Kidney Cysts also have kidney stones, and 30% patients have Polycystic liver.
Simple kidney Cysts
This is disease caused by congenital abnormality. As its name suggested, the cysts are usually found in only one kidney, and there could be only one cyst, or several round cysts with different sizes. As to the people born with this congenital abnormality, the onset rate of Simple kidney Cysts rises along with the increase of age. And when taking Type-B ultrasound, 50% people with the age over 50 years old can be found the cysts.
Acquired kidney Cysts

This kind of cysts is an acquired disease which is related with End Stage Renal Disease and dialysis. The onset of it has no association with age while closely related with the history of dialysis. As to these patients, there is no cyst in their kidney before dialysis. However, as a research found, a majority of patients who have a three-year history of dialysis have been found cysts in their kidney. Generally, there are at least four cysts in one kidney with a size of 2~3 cm for each. What’s worse, without effective treatment, the cysts will cause infections or even canceration.
